Terms of Service

These terms cover this website and the estimates we give. The job itself is governed by the written proposal you sign, not by this page.

Agreement

By using this website or requesting an estimate from JR Flooring ("we", "us", "our"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or send us a request.

Estimates are estimates

A price we send you by text or email is a preliminary range, not a fixed-price contract. It is based on the photos, measurements and description you gave us, which we have not yet verified in person.

The final price is set after an on-site walkthrough and is confirmed in a written proposal. Once you accept that proposal in writing, that is the contract. Nothing on this website, and no preliminary number, obligates either of us to a price.

Why a number can change

Between a photo estimate and a signed proposal, the scope commonly changes for reasons neither of us could see in a picture:

  • The actual square footage differs from the estimate you gave us
  • The subfloor or substrate needs leveling, repair or replacement once the old floor comes up
  • Water damage, rot, mold or a failed shower pan is found behind or beneath the old surface
  • The layout, pattern or material changes after the estimate — herringbone is not the same job as a straight lay
  • Plumbing, electrical or permit work is required that falls outside flooring and tile

If we find something like this, we stop, tell you what it is and what it costs, and wait for your approval before continuing. We do not do extra work and bill you for it afterward.

Scope of our work

We install tile, porcelain and luxury vinyl plank, and we demolish and rebuild bathrooms. That includes demolition, haul-away, substrate preparation, waterproofing, setting, grouting, and trim and transitions, as described in your proposal.

We are not a plumbing, electrical, structural, roofing or mold remediation contractor. Where a job needs that work, we will tell you, and it must be handled by the appropriate licensed trade — either arranged by you, or subcontracted and stated in the proposal.

Material you supply

Most of our work is labor-only: you buy the tile or vinyl, we install it. If you supply the material:

  • Please order enough for cuts and waste. Running short mid-job stops the job.
  • We are not responsible for defects in material we did not supply — shade variation between boxes, warped planks, miscut tile, or a product that is wrong for the room.
  • If we believe a material is unsuitable for where you want it, we will say so before installing it.

Scheduling and delays

Start dates and timelines given in a proposal are our good-faith estimate. Weather, material delivery, permit timing, access to the property and conditions discovered during demolition can move a schedule. We will keep you informed. Neither of us is liable to the other for delays outside our reasonable control.

Payment and warranty

Payment terms, deposits, the warranty on our labor and everything else specific to your job are set out in your written proposal. Where this page and your signed proposal disagree, the proposal controls.

Manufacturer warranties on tile, vinyl, adhesives and waterproofing products belong to the manufacturer, and we pass them through to you. They are not our warranties.

Photos on this site

Some images on this website are representative examples of the type of work we do, not photographs of a specific job we completed. Images of our own completed work are labeled as such. Nothing shown here is a promise of a particular result, material, or finish on your project.

Using this website

The text, layout and design of this site belong to JR Flooring. You are welcome to read it, print it and share the link. Please do not copy it wholesale for a competing site.

We work to keep the site accurate, but we make no guarantee that every price range, service area or detail is current at the moment you read it. The site is provided "as is". We do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Florida law, our liability arising out of this website or a preliminary estimate is limited to the amount you have paid us, if any. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — lost time, lost rental income, or the cost of a different contractor — arising from information on this site.

This section limits liability for the website and for estimates. It does not limit our responsibility for the work we actually perform, which is governed by your proposal and by Florida law, and it does not exclude any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any dispute arising from them will be brought in the state or federal courts serving Brevard County, Florida.

Changes

We may update these terms. The version in effect is the one posted here, with the "Last updated" date at the top. Changes do not alter a proposal you have already signed.
